I've been fishing the East River and Upper New York Harbor as a Charter Boat Captain for over 30 years. My name is Joe Shastay. My two Captains and I have chartered approximately 2,250 trips out on the water. We have been blessed by chartering 482 consecutive trips without being skunked! (Could that be some sort of record?) With our knowledge of the harbor waters, you'll have a great opportunity to land the ""big one"" and not just tell the ""tale"". My Captains and I take our fishing very seriously while enjoying a fun atmosphere on the boat when we're out on the water. 'The areas that we fish read like a sightseers' handbook: The Statue of Liberty , where we'll be catching 28"" - 38"" stripers; and, in front of The United Nations Building, we'll catch a mix of Bass and Blues with bottom and top water action. The panoramic view of the city is simply incredible. The Brooklyn Bridge, The South Street Seaport and Ellis Island are all within a cast length with our guided tours.
